CRAFT PARTIES!!!

Crafts? Friends? All from the comfort of your home? Dreams really do come true. Whether you’re feeling crafty at a bachelorette, ready to elevate your book club, need something to do with your co-workers, or have kiddos who need to keep busy, craft parties offer something for everyone!

Embroidered Photographs

Make your treasured photographs even cooler! We’ll learn basic embroidery stitches to embellish your favorite memories.

Potato Stamping

Listen. This is Idaho. Let’s use our resources. Create your very own designs (or let the potato dictate your shapes!) and print on fabric. Choose from blank totes, zipper pouches, drawstring backpacks, and more.

Paper Chain Tapestries

Childhood is calling! Once upon a time we used paper chains to count down to the last day of school, vacations, and our birthdays. Now we get to use them to add color and joy to our homes!

Circular Weavings

Play with texture and color using beautiful yarns and rovings! We’ll use embroidery hoops to create a circular loom and frame all in one.

THE DETAILS…

  • Craft parties need a minimum of five participants to run and each craft has a different pricing structure based on prep time and material cost. Please see the buttons above for details.

  • If you’re booking a craft party for a bunch of young makers, please note that anyone under the age of 8 years old will need parent or guardian supervision during the activity.

  • Please use the booking link below to request a craft party with me! Due to the time involved in prepping for your party, you must book at least three weeks in advance. If you’re feeling a wee bit desperate and need something sooner, please email me at rachaelmayerart@gmail.com to see if I have last minute availability.

  • I am happy to offer craft parties to the entire Treasure Valley! If you are outside of this area, feel free to still submit a request and depending on the additional distance I need to travel, there may be a small travel fee. If you would like to craft online over Zoom, I’m happy to accommodate you! I have extensive experience teaching online (thank you, pandemic) and craft parties are an excellent way to connect with loved ones far and wide. I’m happy to ship supplies to all participants!

  • Thank you so much for supporting a small business! I’m running this ship solo and while it is a dream come true, it also means that I start prepping for your craft party almost as soon as you book it. If you need to cancel, you can do so with one week’s notice of your event date and receive a full refund. No refunds will be given for cancellations made with less than one week’s notice.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

I’m not creative. Can I still book a craft party? I love proving you wrong so yes please! Creativity comes in all shapes and forms and like anything, requires practice to grow.

You’re coming to my home? I don’t live in an artist’s studio… Listen, me neither. To have an effective craft party, we’ll need a table to lay out supplies and places for folks to sit. It’s helpful to have a table space for everyone to work on for the potato stamping and paper chain tapestries so if you don’t have tables, I’m happy to bring some!

Can we make outside? Yes please! I love crafting outdoors! Paper chain tapestries can be a little tricky with the wind but everything else is outdoor tested and approved.

I love the idea of a craft party but don’t want my home to be trashed… I’m not going to lie to you, if we have a bunch of kids potato stamping, things could get a little messy but I’ll do my best to keep a calm working environment, cover your tables in butcher paper (or bring mine!), and do some basic clean up once the kiddos are out of the space. Still worried? Let’s come up with a game plan between the two of us to put your mind at ease and set ourselves up for success!

Wait… you mention kids above, are craft parties only for young people? I’m in my 30s and my dream Saturday night is crafting with a group of friends while drinking wine and eating cheesy crackers. Craft parties are for all ages (although I have a few more requirements for those under the age of 8 years old) and I have extensive experience teaching makers from 4 years old to those in their golden years and everyone in between.

I have a corporate event - can you teach large groups of people? Yes, yes, yes!! The possibilities are endless! We can set up stations for folks to make at their leisure or have a sit down lesson with all eyes on me. Depending on the size of the group and what you’re envisioning, we might need to do some custom pricing structures. Feel free to email me at rachaelmayerart@gmail.com and we can work out details!
